Lewis Carroll:
Lewis is the author of Alice in Wonderland that was written in 1865. His real name was Charles Lutwidge Dodgson who was born in 1832. He was an ordained Deacon and an Oxford don. He was also a notable photographer, especially of children in which he had arguably inappropriate relationships. It is believed that he would try and subdue his impure thoughts by writing whimsical stories. The inspiration for this story is a real girl named Alice Liddel (aged 11) the Dean's daughter. Lewis would spend time with the Liddel's almost every day and tell Alice and her sister's stories it was at Alice's request that these stories were written down. The first version of Alice in Wonderland was handwritten and illustrated by Lewis himself and was given to Alice as a gift, it is 90 pages long and contains 37 illustrations.
